Max Meyer recently wrote an article outlining what USC would need to do to upset UCLA.
Here’s what else you need to know before the game Sunday at noon in Westwood on Fox Sports 1:
Steve Alford Has Changed the Culture at UCLA
When Ben Howland coached UCLA, you knew what to expect defensively–nothing but man-to-man. Alford, on the other hand, has been utilizing more zone with lengthy guards Jordan Adams (6-foot-5), Kyle Anderson (6-foot-9) and Norman Powell (6-foot-4).
Offensively, UCLA averages 85.5 points per game, which would be more than any season under Howland. The Bruins have scored 80 or more points nine times, compared to three times for the Trojans.
Will History Repeat Itself?
Last year USC went into Pauley Pavilion and stunned UCLA, 75-71, in overtime. Interim coach Bob Cantu only played Omar Oraby six minutes, and instead went small with Eric Wise and Aaron Fuller.
And who could forget J.T. Terrell’s monstrous dunk?

Look Good, Feel Good, Play Good
Last season the Trojans wore their black uniforms in their win over UCLA at Pauley Pavilion. USC will don its black uniforms again Sunday.
