What a shot.
With 4.7 seconds left in overtime on the road at Dayton, the Trojans inbounded the ball to senior guard Pe’Shon Howard, who dribbled the length of the court and made an off-balance three-pointer from the right wing to give USC the 79-76 victory.
Thank you to reader Joe Kiley IV for sending us the video.
In the highlight, notice the hometown broadcasting at its finest, as the play-by-play announcer shows virtually no emotion calling Howard’s incredible shot.
Also notice forward Nikola Jovanovic completely eating it as he jumped up from the bench to celebrate with his teammates.
Howard has now made 21 three-pointers for USC. No other Trojan has made more than eight shots from beyond the arc this season.
Byron Wesley is Back
Byron Wesley, USC’s captain and leading scorer, didn’t start on Thursday at Long Beach State for the first time this season because of a “coach’s decision,” according to coach Andy Enfield.
Wesley didn’t start again against Dayton, but he had a monster game, finishing with 26 points and 10 rebounds.
